Intergenerational Threads
This blanket was created through a deeply intentional process of roving, hand-spinning the wool, and weaving it by hand. Each stage required time, patience, and care, reflecting the relational nature of Coast Salish textile practices.
The work carries community collaboration and cultural knowledge. Learning to spin and weave is not an isolated act but one sustained through shared teachings, mentorship, and intergenerational exchange. Through guidance from knowledge holders and collective practice, this blanket holds more than fibre. It holds story, responsibility, and connection.
Weaving is both technical skill and cultural commitment. In bringing this blanket to life, I honour the hands and teachings that continue to carry Coast Salish weaving traditions forward.
